My career spans more than 35 years in the hospitality industry, with the last 25+ years as a General Manager/Chief Operating Officer of private yacht, dining and country clubs.

This career has given me the opportunity to positively effect the work culture and profitability of an 95+ year old prestigious yacht club, as well as oversee the rebuild of a country club devasted in a California wild fire, and the creation of a new high service dining club.  I work throughout the world with organizations to improve their workplace environments, resulting in a higher level of service and profitability.

I am a father, husband and graduate of The Collins School of Hospitality Management at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.

Overcome the Blame Game: 3 Keys to Create a Culture of Action

Blaming others for one’s issues is easy, and some may even say fun, but to truly take responsibility for one's actions is a large step towards quality leadership.   Leaders must set the example and speaking poorly of others has no place.  Empathy is at the core of accepting responsibility.  The audience will learn the benefits of a culture of action, as well as the steps needed to create a safe place for profitable ideas to surface and grow.

Mindset Mastery: A simple framework for leaders and managers to transform their mindset, resulting in preferred decisions and clear action.

Most people think and practice a Have, Do, Be mentality and lifestyle.  For example, “When I get a new car, then I will get to work on time and then I will be happy.”  To create happiness, we must first look inside ourselves and Be comfortable with ourself. Then we can Do the right thing and take the corrective action (in line with our goals), in order for us to Have what we want most in life.  Everyone has issues and challenges in life, and the only thing we can control is how we react to it.   This education session will move the audience towards a mindset for optimism and set them for success with a “Be” attitude.

"Thanks for speaking and presenting at a recent COO Forum meeting. We appreciate both your excellent, detailed content born from experience and wisdom, along with your confident, engaging speaking style. Always fun for me to watch how attendees become fully focused on you and your presentations!

Your years of being “on the spot” in the Hospitality and Private Club business, and dedication to being an effective leader, prepared you well for a career in public speaking and training. You bring polish and heft to your presentations that get noticed…and appreciated. Your easy going, likeable style opened up our attendees, while your stories and expert content kept them focused and engaged.

We look forward to hosting you as a speaker for our COO Forum again in the near future!"
